Mongolia Investment Summit: London

Mongolia is a land of opportunities, the Mongolia Investment Summit London 2014 brought together key government policy makers and Mongolia’s most exciting and established companies to discuss the direction of the country. With over 125 registered delegates, the second annual summit had a positive vibe amongst the attendees for the country’s diverse investment opportunities.

Keynote speeches from government representatives highlighted the executive’s commitment to liberalise the legislation on foreign investment, to take action on creating a better climate for investment and to resolve ongoing issues around mining licenses and disputes. This has all been vindicated by the announcement of the 100 day stimulus plan, legal amendments and the resolution of the Oyu Tolgoi underground expansion.

Presentations from fund managers, private equity analysts and international financial institutions highlighted that those taking a long term approach to investment in Mongolia could reap substantial rewards. Coupled with a large delegation of global investors and Mongolian industry the event was informative, positive and successful
